To any of my followers who are on iOS 6, and want a hard copy of how to install cracked apps, or how to boot tethered, here's some help for ya!!!


These are the instructions on how to boot a jailbroken device that has a tethered jailbreak, and how to install cracked IPA's (apps that are originally paid apps, but are now free to you thanks to a jailbreak). First, we will start with how to boot your device if it has powered off for any reason.

Save these files to your desktop.

1. You will need a couple of files. The first is the jailbreak program itself. It is called Redsn0w 0.9.15b2. Make sure that you download the correct one for your operating system, i.e. Windows or Mac. You can get the file at http://blog.iphone-dev.org Windows users, make sure that you right click the .exe and go to compatibility, and run it as an administrator. The next file is your IPSW, or iPhone Software. (Or iPad, or iPod…whichever is applicable.) The link is this http://www.ijailbreak.com/ijailbreak-downloads-section/
Scroll to the bottom of the page, and you will see many different IPSW's. You will need 6.0. iPhone 4 users, make sure that if you are getting the correct IPSW. If you are an AT&T user, you need the GSM version (iPhone 3,1). Verizon and Sprint users will need the CDMA version (iPhone 3,3). If you get the iPhone 3,2, it will not work for either, so make sure that you get the correct IPSW for your device.

2. Now that we have the required files, first, you will need to plug in your device. Secondly, you will need to power it off. If it is in a boot loop, and just continually showing the Apple boot logo, you will need to force power it off. You can do this by holding the home and power button together until it powers off. Now you will need to enter DFU (Device Firmware Update) mode. You will do this by manipulating the power and home buttons in a precise sequence. Here is the sequence;
     a-hold the power button only for three seconds
     b-while continuing to hold the power button, begin holding the home button, effectively holding both of them together for ten seconds.
     c-now you will release the power button, while continuing to hold the home button for fifteen seconds.

This process is fairly simple, but may take a couple of attempts to perfect. If for some reason you get it wrong, and find that you are having problems turning your device back on, hold the power and home button together until the device powers back on, and re-start the process. Sometimes entering DFU works better if you can do a swipe-to-power-off, but if your device does a boot loop, you really don't have the luxury of that option.

3. You will now need to open Redsn0w. You will click the "Extras"-Everything else tab located at the bottom of the program window.
Now you will click the "Select IPSW" tab. That will take you to your file system browser, (Windows users it will open "Windows Explorer", Mac users it will open "Finder"), where you will select the file from your desktop by double clicking it. It will then say "IPSW Successfully Recognized"
Now you will click the "Just Boot" tab.
Your device will be injected with the exploit, and will begin to boot with a PWNApple..(pineapple with a chunk out of it), if you have done this correctly….
And TADAAA!!!! You have now rebooted your jailbroken iDevice tethered!!!

Next is quite a bit easier. This is how you will get your free apps. You will need iFunbox. Once again, make sure you get the correct one for your specific operating system, (Mac or Windows).

Install the program.

Now you will need to get your apps, they can be downloaded at http://iphonecake.com/appcake/en/

Once you have your IPA (iPhone Application) downloaded, install it with iFunbox. All you have to do is open iFunbox with your device plugged in to your computer, select the tab at the top toolbar in iFunbox that says "Install APP, or on older versions, says Install IPA", select the IPA from your file system that you are automatically prompted to 'Windows Explorer for Windows users, Finder for Mac users), and just wait for it to say "success". It is really that easy!!!

****I have learned from years of doing this, since you are prompted to select files from tabs quite often from these programs, it is best to create dedicated folders for these files, so that they are correctly labeled, and easy to find. In Windows, I put them under documents, and on my Mac, I created a new favorites folder named IPSW's and one called IPA's. That is just a suggestion, not necessary…just do what is easiest for you, and have fun with your newly jailbroken iDevice!!!****
